Age Groups

• People aged 60 years and older (no medical card required).

• Children aged 2 to 17 years (administered as a nasal spray).

Chronic Health Conditions (From 6 months of age and older)

• Chronic respiratory diseases: Includes chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, moderate or severe asthma, and bronchopulmonary dysplasia.

• Chronic heart diseases: Includes acute coronary syndrome and other chronic heart conditions.

• Chronic kidney disease: Renal failure or ongoing kidney pathology.

• Chronic liver disease: Any long-term liver illness.

• Chronic neurological diseases: Includes multiple sclerosis and hereditary or degenerative disorders of the central nervous system.

• Immunosuppression: Weakened immune systems due to disease or medical treatment, including asplenia (absence of a spleen), splenic dysfunction, HIV, and all cancer patients.

• Diabetes and metabolic disorders: Includes diabetes mellitus and inherited metabolic conditions.

• Neurodevelopmental disorders: Children with cerebral palsy or intellectual disabilities.

• Conditions that compromise respiratory function

• Down syndrome: Both in children and adults.

• Hemoglobinopathies: Genetic blood and hemoglobin disorders.

• Morbid obesity: body mass index (BMI) over 40.

• Long-term aspirin therapy.

• Mental health: Individuals with severe mental health conditions.

Pregnancy

• Pregnant women.

Care and Residential Environments

• Residents of nursing homes, long-term care facilities, or other prolonged-stay institutions.

• Carers of people who are at a high risk of developing complications from the flu.

• Household contacts of patients who have chronic medical conditions or Down syndrome.

Occupation and Work Environments

• Healthcare workers.

• People who have direct and regular contact with pigs, poultry, or waterfowl.
